Joyage Delivers Custom, Authentic Experiences While Saving Travelers Planning Time

New York, NY (AUGUST 10, 2015) — A new travel startup, Joyage, pairs travelers with local experts in the travelers’ destination city to create custom-curated itineraries, saving hours of planning time while suggesting authentic experiences and tips for best enjoying popular attractions.

Research shows, more than ever, today’s consumers are demanding experiences both personalized and authentic. This is no less true when it comes to the travel consumer. Yet, it takes an average of 30 hours to plan a vacation that delivers on these expectations.
With Joyage, travelers complete a profile the sharing their travel details, dining preferences, budgets, and more. They’re then paired with a like-minded local insider in their destination city who curates full-day chronological itinerary recommendations based on the traveler’s unique preferences. Insiders not only suggest cool things to do in New York, Paris, Miami, and Hong Kong, Joyage’s focus markets, but also provide tips on how to navigate those cites’ most popular attractions like a local.

A New York itinerary may include things like a favorite neighborhood trattoria, a Chinese-American cultural event, and advice on the best time to visit a globally-recognized art museum. Travelers receive itineraries in a printable format to enjoy prior to travel. All recommendations and contact info are also provided in a mobile app to use on the go while navigating the destination. Customers are charged a flat rate per desired day of custom itinerary content, allowing for flexibility of dates.

“Joyage marries emotional desires of customization and authenticity with the practical desire for convenience to help service the travel consumer in a whole new way,” says founder Meghan Furse.

Joyage was conceived when Furse, an avid traveler, was headed to a new destination but felt overwhelmed with the impending time and research she knew it would take to plan an authentic experience. “I kept saying, ‘I wish I knew a local there who could just tell me what to do.’ From there, Joyage was born,” says Furse. “It’s like having a friend in your destination city who can create a custom guidebook written just for you.”

While Joyage is currently able to deliver clients an itinerary for New York, Paris, Miami, or Hong Kong, the roster of markets is ever-expanding. Interested travelers are encouraged to contact Joyage at hello@thejoyage.com for information on destination availability.
